Diana you are an amazing person who I respect and love and even after so many tears you are never far from my thoughts I appreciate you helping me to do something that I love so much that I can only hope I have and will have the same effect on people who I teach as you had on me. If I do that I have succeeded in my life. My real regret in my time as a dancer was that I didn’t ever learn enough from this lady. Unfortunately my time under her guidance was too limited.

Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety” As Usoal, Shakespearw’s description of Cleopatra has found a modern day equivalent in you Diana Like Cleopatra you are a mass of contradictions: part marvel. part mystery. No one who knows you reacts neutrally, but rather treat you as “hot ice”, “cold fire or “sweet sorrow”. You are as intoxicating and addictive, as you are infuriating. When I first met you, you singlehandedly put on a musical, a classical ballet, a Shakespeare play and an opera all in one season. It takes a special person to accomplish such feat. And that person is you. Even now after fifty years in the entertainment business you do not rest up for a minute.
However Diana you are more than the Queen of the Quarry, the Doyenne of the dance, the Bard of the ballet. You hold a special place in my heartfor innumerable reasons but two in particular. Firstly you hired me sight unseen from England to direct both the Taming of the Shrew and Cosi Fan Tutte. For that blind act-of-faith in my ability, you shall eternally be cherished. Secondly – and perhaps more importantantly – you have cajoled, shoehorned and bullied me into seeing what a wonderful girl I have in Lisia. For that blind act-of-faith in love, you may eternally be blamed.. Y ou are not of an age but for all time.
